Oak is a kind of tree or
shrub. These are mainly found in the northern hemisphere. Oak trees
can be found in both evergreen and deciduous species.
Some of the deciduous
oak trees do not shed their leaves until spring. After flowers,
fruits known as acorns are borne. These fruits are in the form of
nuts.
Oak wood is a very
strong, hard and most importantly insect resistant wood. Oak woods
were very famous among those Vikings who were placed at a high
status. In the middle ages oak wood was highly used mainly in the
interior decoration of different prestigious buildings.
Red oak tree are found
mainly in North America, United States and Canada. Timber is produced
from oaks. They are mainly produced in North America. The good
quality red oak woods are of a very high value. All red oak wood is
not of a good quality. The bad quality oak woods are used as fuel
wood.
Red oak wood is used for
a number of purposes like flooring, making boxes; handles etc. Red
oak wood is good for interior decoration rather than exterior work.
Red oak wood flooring is
durable and looks beautiful for a long time. This type of flooring
requires to be taken care of. Coming in contact with water may lead
to black staining in these floorings.
